Projects

Air quality management and policy in Asia

The rapid industrialisation of some countries in Asia has led to increasing air pollution, and the need to strengthen air quality management and policy. Changes in ideas about best practice in air quality management and policy are evident, and this project examines these changes in the context of economic development in Asia. It may involve collaboration with government agencies in Asia, the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank.

Air pollutants and their effects on plants and ecosystems

Air pollutants have many effects on plants. At low concentrations, some air pollutants can stimulate plant growth, although at higher concentrations they have adverse effects. This project will investigate the response of plants and ecosystems to exposure to air pollutants.
