Environmental Science (BEnvSc, BSc)

Murdoch University offers two Environmental Science majors at undergraduate level. Both majors are interdisciplinary in nature and are designed to enable graduates to contribute, as individuals and through their employment, to the identification and resolution of environmental problems. The majors are structured around the themes of air, water, land, biota, people, policy and technology with an integrated environmental management perspective. While Environmental Science students are trained in the scientific approach to environmental management, they are also expected to acquire a wider perspective to appreciate the human factors involved in the formulation and implementation of environmental policy.

Employment Prospects:Environmental Science graduates are well positioned to enter the public and private sectors, to join environmental consulting firms, and to work overseas. Employment opportunities are likely to be enhanced for graduates who have completed either the Bachelor of Environmental Science or research honours.
Special Requirements:Both degrees are available externally, although some attendance is required in individual units.
